Next in our Meet the Team series is, our Business Director, Alison!
Following a stint as a teacher (from which she remains ruthless in correcting rogue punctuation), Alison’s public transport career began with managing delivery of school transport services across West Yorkshire.
This was followed by managing a range of projects for West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) covering almost every facet of public transport services operated by a local authority, including defining an active travel strategy, implementing cycling infrastructure, delivery of end to end contact centre capability and the implementation of smart cards, to name but a few.
Alison was pivotal in the formation of Transport for the North’s Integrated and Smart Travel (IST) programme, leading the delivery and successful sign-off of the Outline Business Case and later becoming the Business Design Lead responsible for the definition of the IST project business capabilities, target operating model and the technology that supports them.
Whilst Alison is far more technically savvy than she herself lets on, her advocacy for a good customer experience and meeting the fundamental business objectives of Operators and Local Authorities helps to ensure that Innovatious support for a project is holistic and not just technical.
Not content with advocating for good public transport customer propositions, Alison can often be found testing them as she travels by train in glamorous and scenic locations with her rail enthusiast son, Matty. Ask her who gets it right!
